This is an 1892 ½ Pond gold coin from the South African Republic (ZAR), also known as a Kruger Half Pond. It features the bust of President Paul Kruger on the obverse and the ZAR coat of arms (with an ox-wagon) on the reverse. The "Disselboom" or Double Shaft variety is a rare error type from the first year of production, where the wagon shows two shafts instead of one (the correct design). This error occurred during minting at the Prussian Mint in Berlin, and most examples were recalled and melted, making it highly sought after by collectors. The coin is 22-carat gold, weighing approximately 3.99 grams (about 0.1146 troy oz of pure gold).
