1966 Fender Mustang For Sale
I’m selling this beautiful all original 1966 Fender Mustang, 9 April ’66 to be exact. It has a wonderful resonant body and even unplugged its very much alive for a solid body guitar, more so than my previous 66 Mustang I owned a few years back.
A couple things I need to mention about the guitar:
The decal on the neck has worn off (hence the low price) but the most important part, the date on the inside is still there “9 APR 66 A”
It’s a type “A” neck which is pretty short scale. So the guitar currently has an additional “type B” neck on it shaped by Brian Fanner - it’s a great neck and he did a brilliant job with it so whoever gets the guitar I’m sure will probably keep this neck on if they are not too keen on super short scale, but you still have the original neck should you want to put it back on.
The pickups are original (despite the pickup covers not being closed over the magnets)
The wiring has been modified so that only the one pickup selector is in use to select between neck, both, and bridge - its far more practical this way but you do sacrifice the option of having the pickups out of phase (if you do want that shitty out of phase sound I have the the other switch and can wire it back to original spec if needed)
