Most entry level guitars come with ceramic magnet pickups which are not the best for Telecasters. Alnico 5 magnets have a more classic 60’s sound with slightly more defined low end and less mids while still holding clarity and sparkle. If you want a more darker sound pickup with slightly lower output due to weaker magnets then Alnico 2 magnets (KTN12) is the better option.
