Production Supervisor

We’re seeking an internal candidate to train in the position of Production Supervisor. This individual must be able to lead daily production activities and ensure safety, quality and production targets are met. The ideal candidate needs to be hands-on, process-focused, and be able to motivate and lead a team of operators to deliver consistent results.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Hands on in achieving safety, quality and production targets
• Ensure all operators have the PPE prior to commencing work
• Follow the production plan, prioritise workflow of production to meet deadlines
• Supervise a team of operators by allocating daily tasks
• Ensure processes are followed in terms of sequence of events
• Monitor hourly production targets and immediately report nonconformities to the Manager
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
• Report all maintenance issues to Maintenance Co-Ordinator via a machine downtime record book found in the workshop
• Maintain accurate production records for the Operations Manager by ensuring Output sheets are recorded accurately and consistently on a hourly basis
• Ensure product quality is as per Greenline’s standard
• Have a good understanding of our Greenline’s Products
• Conduct First offs on all critical processes with the QA personnel, ensure there are sign offs
• Handover all products that need to be double checked by QA personnel in the allocated area
• Reduce the scrap in your department by following correct workflows and reporting nonconformities
• Practice excellent housekeeping standards (storage of crates and bins, neatness on workstations, product control and contamination etc)
• Daily meetings with all operators to communicate production plans, previous shift results, quality, any other concerns etc)
• Attend daily production meetings with Manager
• Adhere to company policies and procedures
• Carry out any other reasonable instruction given by management

Desired Experience & Qualification

• 3-5yrs experience in manufacturing/production
• Strong knowledge of production processes, safety standards and quality controls
• Excellent commination skills in English is necessary (read, write and speak)
• Good working experience with operators
• Problem-solving initiatives
• Pro active approach
• Grade 12
