Fitter and Turner – Roodepoort (Temporary to Permanent)

Location: Roodepoort, Gauteng

Contract Type: Temporary (with potential for permanent placement)

Rate: Up to R130/hour

Start Date: Urgent / Immediate

Role Overview

We are urgently seeking a skilled and reliable Fitter and Turner for a temporary assignment based in Roodepoort. The successful candidate will be responsible for fitting, assembling, and maintaining mechanical components and systems. This role may transition into a permanent position based on performance and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform fitting, turning, and machining tasks to specification
• Assemble and install mechanical components and systems
• Conduct fault finding, repairs, and preventative maintenance
• Operate lathes, milling machines, and other workshop equipment
• Read and interpret technical drawings and job cards
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
• Complete job reports and communicate effectively with supervisors

Minimum Requirements

• Recognized Trade Test Certificate as a Fitter and Turner
• Minimum 3 years’ post-trade experience in a production or maintenance environment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and precision machining skills
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Own transport or reliable commute to Roodepoort
• Available to start immediately
