Assistant Accountant

Our client, one of the largest independent producers of wheat in the country, situated in Riebeek West, is seeking a young, Assistant Accountant to join and support the Financial Team. 

Key Performance Areas:

• Management of creditors control and accounts payable (multiple entities)
• Recordkeeping and invoicing between relevant entities
• Monthly payroll processing and administration
• Accounting up to trial balance
• Year-end audit preparation
• VAT, EMP submission and reconciliations
• Assist with management of debtors control
• Stock accounting, stock reconciliation, and variance analysis
• Cost tracking and support of manufacturing operations

Requirements:

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance
• Completed SAIPA articles and professional registration
• 3-5 years’ experience in accounts payable or creditors control
• Experience in manufacturing environment will be highly favourable
• Strong stock accounting experience will be a significant advantage
• Good understanding of cost accounting principles
• Excellent computer and software skills (SAGE and Pastel will be beneficial)
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Outstanding numerical and analytical skills
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• A detail-oriented personality
• High level of integrity
• Good time-management and prioritisation skills
• Ability to work under pressure
