Junior Cost Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Cost Accountant to join our finance team. This role is ideal for someone eager to grow their career in accounting while gaining hands-on experience in project costing, invoicing, and stock costing.

As a Junior Cost Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial records, supporting project profitability, and maintaining compliance with internal and external requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with project costing and monitor budget vs. actual performance
• Prepare and process invoices accurately and on time
• Perform stock costing and support inventory valuation processes
• Reconcile cost accounts and assist with month-end reporting
• Support audits and compliance with accounting standards
• Collaborate with project managers and operations teams to ensure financial accuracy
• Assist with project quotes
• Monitoring of outstanding invoicing and quotes
• Assist with project purchases, RFQs and monitoring of outstanding orders and deliveries
• Stock lists maintenance and costing
• Month-end processes relating to WIP, stock and
• Other matters as communicated form time to time.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 12 years experience in cost accounting or similar role (graduates with strong academic background will also be considered)
• Strong analytical and numerical skills
• Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• An understanding of projects and an interest in operations will be advantages.
• Must be proficient in both Afrikaans and English
