Location: GermistonContract Type: PermanentClosing Date: 30 November 2025Start Date: Preferably beginning of January 2025Salary: R35,000 – R40,000 per month (negotiable) Role OverviewA leading engineering company in Germiston is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Workshop Floor Manager.The successful candidate will oversee workshop operations, manage artisans, and ensure production targets and quality standards are consistently achieved.This role requires strong practical knowledge of structural steel, piping, and platework, as well as the ability to manage resources, drive efficiency, and maintain cost-effective operations. Key ResponsibilitiesManage and supervise all artisans and workshop staffDrive production output and ensure quality standards are metOversee ordering, allocation, and utilization of resources and materialsEnsure cost-effective operations and minimize wastageImplement effective time management practices for staffMonitor and enforce workshop safety and compliance standardsProvide practical oversight of production processesIdentify and resolve operational challenges promptlyReport on production performance and resource utilizationCollaborate with management to improve efficiency and productivity Minimum Requirements10 Years previous experience in managing an Engineering / Manufacturing workshop environmentStrong background in structural steel, piping, and plateworkProven ability to manage and lead artisans effectivelyPractical, hands-on approach to overseeing productionStrong organizational and time management skillsAbility to work cost-effectively and maintain resource efficiencyExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated ability to drive production and maintain quality standards Knowledge and SkillsWorkshop management expertiseStructural steel, piping, and platework knowledgeResource allocation and material management skillsStrong leadership and team management abilitiesProblem-solving and practical decision-making skillsCost control and efficiency improvement focus
