Job Title: Creditors/Debtors (Local and Foreign Accounts) & Buying Clerk
Location: Alrode, Johannesburg

Company Overview:
Our client, based in Alrode, is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Creditors/Debtors & Buying Clerk to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with solid experience in managing both local and foreign creditors and debtors, as well as supporting procurement processes in an administrative and follow-up capacity.

Key Responsibilities:

Creditors & Debtors (Accounts Payable & Receivable):

  • Process and reconcile local and foreign creditor accounts
  • Ensure timely payment of supplier invoices
  • Follow up on outstanding payments and resolve queries
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
  • Prepare remittance advices and reconcile supplier statements
  • Monitor customer accounts to ensure payments are received on time
  • Perform general debtors' functions, including issuing invoices, statements, and managing collections

Buying / Procurement Support:

  • Manage existing purchase orders, ensuring timely follow-ups on deliveries
  • Liaise with suppliers (local and international) to confirm order status and expected delivery dates
  • Maintain accurate records of all orders and deliveries
  • Use pre-set supplier codes, contacts, and contracts – no sourcing, negotiation, or new supplier set-up is required
  • Coordinate internally with relevant departments to ensure procurement processes run smoothly

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with both local and foreign creditors and debtors
  • Previous experience in a buying or procurement support role (non-negotiation)
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and accounting software (e.g. Pastel, SAP, or similar)
  • Excellent communication and follow-up skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

  • The buying responsibilities in this role are administrative only. All suppliers, pricing, and codes are already in place.
  • The ideal candidate will be proactive, accurate, and comfortable working with international vendors.
