BRANCH MANAGER AIRFREIGHT (R65K –
R70K)
Medical Aid & Provident Fund DUTIES - Monitor/enforce the application of Branch - Imports/exports Air Freight procedures and service standards - Review operations performance via Ship Shape management reports in terms of damages, claims, productivity, PODS processed, load times, customer complaints, delivery problems, special requirements - Handle major customer complaints and problems, ensure corrective action - Conduct route re-engineering, as indicated - Recommend new operations policy/procedures and methods. - Gather pertinent business freight service and operational information, identify, evaluate trends and opportunities, determine sales/operational strategies, define objectives and evaluate the outcome

Maintain branch administration and financial control - Review and authorize creditors’ payments /reconciliations, petty cash expenditure, reconciliations - Authorize branch expenditure, profit and loss accounts and ensure appropriate action taken - Authorize staff change documentation including engagements, terminations, salary adjustments, transfers, etc. Establish monitoring budgets - Monitor outstanding debts and implement collections, as indicated - Ensure maintenance and integrity of the branch IT and communication systems. Staff Performance Management: - Develop job descriptions, recruit staff, coach, and discipline to ensure the achievement of performance and productivity standards and compliance to all relevant policies and practices

Achieve branch sales results Communicate sales expectations, coach, monitor performance and take corrective action

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS - Grade 12 - Deg (Bcom) / Dip in Supply Chain - Management/Logistics/Freight/Transportation Level 5. - Min 7 years in an Airfreight related industry - In-depth understanding of Airfreight transportation operations, processes, methods and practices. - 4 years supervisory/managerial - Commercial insurance and loss control policies and practices. - Broad based understanding Finance, HR, IT, Sales and Marketing - Labour legislations with specific reference to compliance requirements - Commercial insurance and loss control policies and practices. - Computer skills - Formal presentation and group facilitation.
