Senior Import Controller

A Logistics company seeks a Senior Import Controller to be responsible for the forwarding and clearing of shipments, coordinating transport, handling invoicing and shipment file administration, arranging insurance cover, processing claims, providing guidance to Import Controllers and Learners, ensuring compliance with the quality management system, and managing ad hoc tasks as required.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Business Developer, youâ??ll drive new business acquisition by identifying and pursuing clients, crafting strategic plans, and delivering tailored logistics solutions. Youâ??ll build trust-based relationships, ensuring client satisfaction while spotting opportunities to up-sell and cross-sell. With a focus on revenue growth, youâ??ll meet and exceed sales targets, maintain detailed pipeline reports, and present results to leadership. Representing the company at industry events, youâ??ll stay ahead of market trends, rates, and innovations to keep us competitive.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• Matric with a 2-year freight forwardingâ??related qualification at NQF Level 4 or 5, or equivalent.
• Candidates should have 5â??7 years recent experience in import controlling within the Clearing & Forwarding industry, with a proven track record of executing end-to-end processes.
• Strong knowledge of sea freight shipment types, claims and insurance processes, as well as INCOTERMS, is essential.
• Sound knowledge of ShipShape, with a strong customer service orientation, and able to handle demanding environments.
