Job Position: General Manager (Long and short haul transport industry) Ref: 3841 Location: Vanderbijlpark (Gauteng) Salary: R40 000 to R50 000 per month commensurate with experience and qualification Email your updated CV to recruit@onlinepersonnel.co.za Qualifications / Requirements: In depth knowledge of business and industries Strong business development skills and experience essential Strong financial acumen Ability to compile and manage sound financial plans (costings, projections, targets, budgets, recons, etc) Tightly manage signed off budgets on all projects Strong leadership skills: - Build positive working relationships with all employees based on fairness, respect, inspiration, empowerment, openness - Foster highly capable and collaborative teams through coaching and motivating - Create meaningful and positive workplaces for teams - Effectively monitoring employees and providing them with constructive feedback to continually enhance performance Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills: - Strong verbal and written communication proficiency - Strong negotiation and mediation skills - Strong presentation and report writing abilities Time management/ planning Complex problem solving Proactive planning & coordination Accountability and responsibility Analytical and strategic Service / Operational Excellence Key Performance Areas: Strategic planning and participation: - Develop and implement strategic and cost-effective operating plans that reflect the longer-term objectives and priorities established - Develop ideas and create initiatives to take advantage of market opportunities, reduce operational threats, forestall business risks, and maximizes core strengths - Provide strategic advice so that they will have accurate view of the market and the company’s future - Identify core competencies and defines operational goals - Prepare long-term and short-term plans that contribute to the sustainability of projects and the business unit as a whole Operational and Project Management - Conceptualization and initiation: - Development of project proposals (for internal and external use) - Preparing project costings - Pitching proposals to potential clients Operational and Project Management – Planning: - Developing specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and timely goals for business unit and individual projects - Ensuring the following is covered in each project plan: - Project plan with milestones / KPIs (Work Breakdown Schedule) - Resource planning (human and assets) - Budgets and cash flows - Governance / Compliance plans (incl. reporting tools) - Risk management
