Wildlife around the lodge includes zebra, giraffe, wildebeest, kudu, warthog, nyala, suni,, impala, duiker, monkeys and mongoose. Bushbabies are often seen in the evening. The area is popular for its rich wild and birdlife with the Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game Park close by for safaris, within the iSimangaliso Wetland Park.

The guest chalets are surrounded by peacefull woodland suitable for couples and friends as well as family chalets. Some chalets have a kitchen for guests who prefer self-catering accommodation. All rooms are en-suite and air-conditioned and have a private veranda.
