Water : Again you can apply for municipal supply. However you could pump water from stream, which is on our boundary or sink a BOREHOLE, likely no more than 20 meters, we were informed.Suitable pumps are inexpensive. PRESSURE PUMPS and shallow borehole pumps.
Additionally, the water arrangements we had already made was for the local water supply truck to come top up our water tank, whenever requested, at R250 a month, which is cheaper than borehole pump, or pumping from river. Plus municipal truck water is already filtered treated water, good for washing, bathing and drinking.
Security: In these lawless days, erecting an ELECTRIC FENCE is cheaper than brick walls and palisade fencing. And more difficult for thieves to penetrate. Maintenance is much easier.
We had planned going completely OFF GRID, prior to health limitations demanding reprioritizing time and funds.
