Eastern Cape Bushveld Game Reserve

This scenic private game reserve is situated a mere 9 km from Port Alfred. The river frontage is spectacular and boasts an in season lapa restaurant with ablutions, jetty, rock pool, play area and individual braai with permanent thatch umbrellas. One can enter via the road or the Kowie River. A camping section has electrified sites and ablution and scullery blocks for the camper’s convenience.
There are 3 “Platforms” which are high up and each has their own hot water shower, toilet and hand basin. A team building area has been developed and can be hired out for corporate occasions or fun birthday parties.
The “Lodge” is the original old Victorian farmhouse and comprises wooden floors, open plan lounge and dining area leading onto the pool area. There are 2 double bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, another 2 double bedrooms, one of which has an en suite sunroom and finally a separate family bathroom.
The “Manager’s House” consists of an open plan lounge, dining area and kitchen as well 2 x double bedrooms and a full bathroom. “Van Zyl’s House” has 4 bedrooms, one is en suite and a second bathroom. The lounge, dining area and kitchen are open plan and there is a double garage.
Finally “Eagles Rest” is a wooden chalet with spectacular views of the Kowie River and Mansfied estuary. It is an open plan room with kitchen, dining and sleeping areas and a gorgeous deck with built in braai. Game on the farm includes, Kudu,Nyala, Widebeest, Cape Bushbuck, Ostrich, Grey Duiker, Zebra, Giraffe, Mountain Rhebuck, Impala, Blesbok, Oribi, Warthog, Bushpig, Aardvark, and Carucal. There are also hundreds of bird species including the Fish Eagle.
