This distinguishing 3434-hectare farm is idyllically situated 30-km from the town of Graaff- Reinet on the banks of the Sunday`s and Camdeboo rivers. Upstream from the farm is the De Hoop dam, which was established in 1938 and its primary purpose is for irrigation. The panoramic Spandaukop and Tandjiesberg is clearly visible in the distance. It consists of 2 adjacent title deeds.

The farm is a typical summer rainfall farm with 6-ha lasered and 11-ha flood irrigation land suitable for the production of fodder or lucerne from the De Hoop water scheme canal. Unfortunately, the dam is still dry due to the previous drought. Another 25-ha arable land can be irrigated from close by strong boreholes.

Farming in this area consists predominantly of livestock like cattle, sheep, and Angora goats. Lucerne does extremely well in the sandy-loam soil in this warm dry climate and offers quality feed for livestock in the dry season.

The topography is rugged with cliffs, mountainous areas, flat plateaus on top of the Rooiberg mountains, undulating hills, vast flat plains, and apron veldt areas as well as the tree lined Camdeboo and Sondags rivers traversing through the Eastern section of the farm. Sometimes the Sunday`s river is flowing strongly after rainfall in the upstream areas.

Vegetation consists mainly of natural Karoo-like shrubs; succulent Karoo; patches of various grasses like red grass, Boesman grass, various sweet grasses; Shepard`s trees (Matoppie); and a very special plant, the spekboom, growing lushly in the higher lying Rooiberg mountains; dense riverine thicket, mainly Acacia thorn (nutritious leguminous), Tamarisk and Karee trees.

A section of the 260 sq meter homestead was built before the Second World War and has been restored without affecting the character of this heritage homestead - situated in a large, lush garden boasting with matured trees. A borehole supplies fresh water for household and the large concrete dam watering the garden.

From the stoep you overlook lush gardens with mature trees which contribute to a special ambience of this beautiful Karoo surrounds.

There is also an old school building which can easily be transformed into hunter's accommodation. Located near the house are 2 rondavels, one as guest accommodation with bathroom and toilet. Other buildings are a shearing shed, together with livestock handling facilities as well as a workshop. Power is supplied by 3-phase Municipal electricity with a back-up diesel generator.

When the inner camps' layout and farming infrastructure was planned, the diverse veldt types, the topography and variety of vegetation were all considered. The perimeter fence is jackal proof, and the Southern section is 2,4-metre-high game fencing. The natural veldt is well maintained and consists of 14 inner camps with ample livestock drinking water. Some fencing is in good repair. The farm is suitable to produce high quality cattle, sheep, Boer Goats, Angoras, and game....
