Hotel Handyman

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out general repairs, maintenance, and basic installations.
• Handle basic electrical and plumbing work — such as changing plugs, replacing sockets, fixing pipes, and replacing geyser elements.
• Assist with pool maintenance and ensure equipment is functioning properly.
• Perform painting and finishing work with attention to detail and a neat result.
• Ensure all work is completed correctly and neatly the first time.
• Keep tools and equipment well-maintained and organized.
• Maintain a clean and tidy work area.
• Assist with routine maintenance checks, repairs, and promptly report any issues.

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric
• 1 – 2 Year previous Handyman/Maintenance experience
• Additional qualifications within the field advantageous (Salary Dependent)
• Hands on Problem Solving approach and the ability to remain calm under pressure
• Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently
• Effective communication with members of staff as well as Guests of the Hotel
• Honest and trustworthy beyond approach
• Presentable and well spoken
• Team Player who leads by example
• Proactive in approach
• Interpersonal skills
• Ability to run with multiple tasks/jobs at once
• Practical experience in general maintenance, basic plumbing, electrical work, and painting.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
• Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently.
• Good problem-solving skills and time management.
• Valid driver’s license
• Should be able to work public holidays and weekends.
