Shakati lies on the Mokolo River in the heart of the malaria-free Waterberg UNESCO Biosphere Reserve; only 2½ hours drive from Johannesburg. Small, beautiful and affordable safari lodge with a lounge, dining area, boma, pool, a lush garden and 3 comfortable self-catering chalets with verandah and own braai area (we sell firewood). Each chalet sleeps 4-6 persons. Catering on request -must be ordered 3 days before arrival. All of the accommodation is surrounded by an electric fence for your safety and security.
There is a variety of wildlife to view: Giraffe, Zebra, Kudu, Reedbok, Hartebeest, Eland, Blesbok, Duiker, Steenbok, Warthog, Impala, Jackal, Hyena, Porcupine and much more. You can enjoy guided game drives and -walks with our reserve manager and you can sleep-over in the waterhole hide and experience the life and sounds of the African night.
