ICU Trained Registerd Nurse

A leading private facility in Cape Town is seeking a dedicated and experienced ICU Trained Nurse to join their team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in providing specialized nursing care to provide quality health service to patients and doctors in accordance with the scope of practice. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 – 3 years’ experience within this specific industry.


Responsibility:
You will be responsible for the following: Supervise and orientate junior staff members and students Perform teaching rounds with junior staff members and students Competently administering oral medication Perform wound care Knowledge and insight into infection prevention principles Promote and maintain patient health and give health education Knowledge of scientific nursing process Able to complete patient assessments, compiling and implementation of appropriate nursing care plan Safe administration of medication, and knowledge of management of schedule medication Adhere and enforce hospital policies and protocols and quality improvement initiatives Qualifications: B.Cur / Diploma in Nursing Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse Registered Nurse with experience with ICU Unit Knowledge and practical experience of the professional requirements and procedures required as stipulated in the Scope of Practice of the South African Nursing Council Valid SANC qualification / certificate 2 – 3 Years post qualification experience working in hospitals / private facilities Ventilator competency is essential BLS competent (basic life support) Skills: Good communication skills and able to work well with a diverse team Should appreciate the importance of person-centered care Problem-solving, analysis and judgement Resilience Engaging diversity Verbal & written communication and presentation Influencing Drive & energy Excellence orientation Ethical behaviour Building relationships Customer responsiveness Organisational awareness If you are interested in this opportunity, apply with your most recent resume & supporting documents, or give us a call on 021 205 7569.
