Description

Riverside Manor Retirement Estate is looking for a dynamic, compassionate leader to join our team and uphold the highest standards of geriatric care.

Requirements:

  • South African citizen
  • SANC-registered nurse
  • Minimum 10 years practical nursing experience, with at least 5 years in geriatric care
  • Proven experience in Alzheimers, Dementia, and Frail Care
  • Leadership experience as Head of Nursing
  • Empathy and passion for caring for the elderly
  • Ability to work collaboratively with medical professionals including GPs, specialists, physiotherapists, biokineticists, podiatrists, and dieticians

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Report directly to the Nursing Services Manager
  • Manage quality nursing care in line with the Older Persons Act 13 of 2006
  • Ensure compliance with Department of Social Development requirements
  • Implement and manage nursing policies and procedures
  • Oversee nursing staff complement, leave, absenteeism, and performance
  • Conduct assessments and develop integrated care plans
  • Maintain high nursing standards across mid-, frail-, Alzheimers-, and dementia care
  • Manage wound care, medication administration, and oxygen/nebulisation
  • Communicate effectively with residents and families regarding care plans
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date medical records
  • Coordinate with other departments and service providers

  • Fluent in Afrikaans and English
  • Strong communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills
  • Professional, proactive, and innovative leadership
  • Committed to continuous learning and staff development
  • Computer literate (MS Word and Excel)
  • Team-oriented and collaborative
