The Regulatory
Affairs Officer assists the Regulatory Affairs Manager in the coordination of
all study specific and central regulatory procedures for ECF projects.
MAIN DUTIES
Attending to protocol/project specific regulatory
issues, communication, and submission, including those made to Ethics
committees (EC), SAHPRA, hospital management, DoH. Submissions may include, but are not
limited to, initial EC submission with site specific consent
form, amendments, recruitment material, questionnaires, safety reports,
protocol renewals/terminations, and protocol specific Conflict of Interest
forms. Responsible for maintaining the
regulatory hard copies in the regulatory binders for all studies in all
clinics (Travel Required).Responsible for re-certification
of all studies.Responsible for submission of Safety
Reports/Adverse Events to EC and SAHPRA.Coordination of central
regulatory issues including updating of all personnel CVs, licences,
network conflict of interest forms, GCP and OHRP certifications, IATA
certifications, laboratory certifications and normal ranges. Maintaining
tracking system. Preparation for monitor visitsLiaising with study monitors for
site visits at all clinics. Follow up on monitoring reports
to ensure that queries are resolved and changes effected,Participate in all study related
conference calls, if applicableLiaise with clinic staff
regarding approval of studies, LOAs, Delegation Logs.Attend all trainings and site
initiation visits, DICRS meetings and maintain training records for all
staff on all studies. Maintain essential documents fileSubmit approved studies to DAIDS
Protocol Registration Office. Ensure regular QA/QC of
regulatory files in all clinics. Perform any other reasonably expected task within
the scope of skillset and capabilities.
Desired Experience and Qualification
Strong admin and filing skills requiredKnowledgeable on MS Word, MS Excel (able to create and update spreadsheets)A qualification in a health -related field or administration is advantageous.Previous Regulatory knowledge highly advantageous. GCP Certificate advantageous.Travel to sites-own vehicle preferrable.Good verbal communication.Ability to learn from observation.
