CSP Plant Chemist - Renewable Energy - Northern Ca

*AltGen is on the hunt for an exceptional CSP Plant Chemist to assist our client with the daily management of the Operations & Maintenance of the facility based in the Northern Cape. Our client is a well-known asset managememt company and responsible for Operations and Maintenance of several of the CSP facilities within energy assets globally positioned in the Renewable Energy Sector in North and South America, Spain, Algeria, and South Africa. *   The ideal person for this awesome opportunity will have a chemical engineering background and exhibits phenomenal skills and knowledge in the operations of a Concentrating Solar Power facility, but more importantly, to ensure effective and efficient operation of Water Treatment Plant, water analysis and in house effluent & emission monitoring at plant site and to adhere to standards of regulatory authorities. The below responsibilities highlight some key performance areas yet are not exhaustive: * Daily control the performance of water treatment facility * Daily control the performance of waste water treatment facility * Daily control the performance of chemical dosage units and sampling systems * Keep updated the procedures related to Chemistry * Perform the internal and external analysis plan including WSC, WTP, WWTP, Cooling Systems, Water Supply and Backwash Water Treatment * Check the analysis results as well as the chemical parameters readings to take the necessary actions when requested * Cooling tower biological control and disinfection activities (legionella) * Control the HTF degradation * Perform the Molten Salts analysis * Ensuring all operation activities are performed in compliance with laws and regulation * Recommend to the Operations Manager changes in methods, schedules and procedures needed to meet specific exigencies of the plant operations related to the chemical control * Perform liaison with Environmental Authorities, external organisations and stakeholders *EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS* * University Degree in (Bachelor, MSc or equivalent) in Chemical Engineering (Preferred) * Matric Certificate (Grade 12)   *MINIMUM SKILLS & EXPERIENCE * * At least 3 years chemical control experience in industrial processes including cooling systems, WSC, WTP, WWTP * Experience on International Projects would be an added advantage ??????? * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals * Ability to write routine reports and correspondence * Professional command of English and Afrikaans with exceptional reading, writing and communication abilities * Some experience of installation and repair of water treatment dosing equipment * Fully familiar with the Plant hazards * Excellent communication skills * A proactive a
