REGISTERED NURSE – THEATRE QUALIFIEDPRETORIAMARKET RELATED ONLY TRAINED THEATRE EXPERIENCE Hospital DivisionReports to the Unit Manager Summary of the position:The above position is available based in the Theatre Department. The ideal applicants should satisfy the criteria and scope of a Registered Nurse. Accountabilities:Patient care and counsellingPerforms rostered weekend duties / emergency relief on call duties and associated tasksProvides safe, clean and secure environment for patients, staff and visitorsUtilizes supplies and equipment in an economical mannerCo-operates and collaborates with other hospital departments to provide quality patient careLiaises with ward manager on matters relating to patient careKeeps accurate records at all timesRequired to serve on relevant committees within the departmentSupervises and evaluates quality of patient care through patient roundsCommunicates with patient and family regarding patient care and informs Unit Manager of patient care problemsAssists with the coaching of junior staff within the UnitTo take responsibility of Theatre and cases on a daily basis where you are allocated Skills ProfileEducationMust be a Registered Nurse, registered with the South African Nursing Council.Must preferably be in possession of a Diploma in Operating Room Technique.Strong Personality Work Experience:Previous experience in Theatre as a Scrub Sister in a multi discipline environmentFlexible in working hoursMust be able to do callsHave at least 5 years private hospital experience in Theatre as an Scrub NurseThe ability to communicate well at all levelsThe ability to work well under pressure and to maintain effectiveness during changing conditionsThe ability to develop using collaborative relationships to help accomplish work goalsThe ability to actively participate as a member of a team to achieve goalsThe ability to identify and understand issues, problems and opportunities in order to take appropriate action and/ or to resolve problemsThe ability to plan and organise work for self and others to ensure efficient completionThe ability to produce work of a high quality standard by accurately checking processes and tasksThe ability to maintain stable performance under pressure by handling stress in an acceptable way to personnel and the organisation Knowledge:The ability to set high standards of performance for self and others, and assuming the overall responsibility and accountability for the successful completion of assignments or taskUnderstanding of government and private partnerships.
