Our client, a Global Strategy and Management Consulting firm is currently expanding their team of Water specialist professionals.

One would describe you as an energetic problem-solver, who is open-minded with multi-perspective views on water development, governance, systems, policies and broader developmental issues.

You have outstanding communication skills and the ability to work effectively and partner with clients.

Furthermore, you are a team player with a very strong ability to think strategically who is equipped with rigorous research skills as well as an extremely good writer with proven and exceptional writing skills of international caliber.



Key Duties:
Working with existent water sector and institutional experts in the organisation to develop and grow the project pipeline and competencies in water utility support and turnaround;
Leading project teams and participating as a technical expert working on a range of water sector development and resilience projects that aim to provide improved access to water resources (feasibility studies), that look to develop improved operational and contractual arrangements for infrastructure (public private partnerships), and that drive better institutional and financial arrangements that enable improved and sustainable service standards (utility turnaround);
Providing specialist input into other projects where required, as well as undertaking, contributing to, and delivering project work;
Mentoring and supporting junior consultants working on water projects; and
Growing into a senior practice lead/manager in the firm, leading water work across the group.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Required
At least a Masters degree in an appropriate field including (but not limited to) water sector engineering, water management, resource economics, financial management, public management and governance, business management, law or any other relevant post-graduate qualification;
At least 8-10 years experience in public water sector consulting with a keen understanding of the financial, institutional, and regulatory systems that underpin water systems, services and infrastructure;
At least 5-10 years of water utility experience as a consultant or preferably within a water utility as a senior manager, thereby providing a thorough understanding of utilities and the various dimensions of their business;
An understanding of public private partnerships from a legal, financial and operational basis would be extremely advantageous;
Solid work experience in working with national, provincial/ state, and local governments, and water utility regulators is also of advantage;
A demonstrated track record in winning work with the public sector and donors/International Financ
