Senior Systems Administrator

The Student Hub, an educational technology start-up that specialises in developing innovative educational platforms within South Africa, is looking to fulfil the role of Senior Systems Administrator. This full-time position is based in Cape Town. The Student hub is currently recruiting for a* Senior Systems Administrator* to join their dynamic team. *Job Purpose* To coordinate the daily tasks of the Server and VM infrastructure within the Company and to assist with ad hoc IT operational projects. *Job Summary* * Windows Server Administration and Standards * AD Management, Architecture and Standards * VM Ware infrastructure * Microsoft Exchange * MS SharePoint * 3rd Party Server based software * Network Infrastructure *Ad hoc projects* * Produce work required per project * Deliver the project on schedule * Manage the day-to-day aspects of the project * Ownership of Issues and Service Requests * Responsibility for ownership of all incidents and service requests logged. * Responsible for tracking and progress of incidents to conclusion *Liaison with 3rd party suppliers* * Collaborate with third party suppliers where appropriate * Monitor SLA’s and escalated where appropriate * Constructive relationships maintained *Measure and Report* * Continually measure, monitor and work to drive down incident levels. * Produce required reports on hardware/ software performance and capacity. * Weekly feedback and report to Departmental Manager. *Server, VM Environments* * Servers are proactively maintained to prevent unnecessary production downtime. * Maintain Active Directory, DNS, DHCP * Server commissioning and decommissioning is performed as per company SOP. * Backup process is checked and maintained. * Virtual environment is proactively maintained to prevent unnecessary production downtime. * Anti-Virus software is maintained and reported on. * Provides input to Platform Management and Infrastructure Architecture * Application support as required *Planning; prioritizing and work allocation; monitoring* * Realistic, accurate, comprehensive and achievable and enable the achievement of business results * Communication of plans to relevant stakeholders * Performs regular monitoring at appropriate intervals * Reasons for performance deviations will be investigated, rectified and communicated * Matric, 3 Year IT Related Diploma * 7 years Window Systems Administration and Server experience Market Related  * Matric, 3 Year IT Related Diploma * 7 years Window Systems Administration and Server experience
