Professional Nurse Trainer (12 Months Contract)

Main purpose of the job:
To assist in training Research Nurses, Assistants, and Trainees
Location:
KwaZulu-Natal
Key performance areas:
To assist with training at different E-Motive sites
Assist research staff in setting up the sites for the intervention phase of the trial
Ensure all relevant training documentation is completed
Complete and maintain trial documentation in accordance with trial requirements
Ensure that all staff are aware of the correct treatment pathway for patients and time points for data collection
Support research staff and labor ward staff (of all cadres) based at the sites to ensure the E-MOTIVE intervention and implementation strategies are adhered to
Collect information for regular reports on the progress of the trial
Conduct and lead E-MOTIVE training and conduct site audits/monitoring visits at sites within South Africa and produces audit/monitoring reports as and when required
Coordinate and respond to queries received from the International Coordinating Centre (ICC) at Birmingham Clinical Trials Unit (BCTU)
To assist with admin activities such as meetings, training, etc.
Conduct face to face interviews for qualitative research
Comply with local institution policies, procedures, standards, and protocols, and collaborate with other health care professionals to ensure these are observed
Ensure that the trial is undertaken in accordance with the terms approved by the local Ethics Committee and other local regulatory bodies, if applicable
Support labor ward staff to administer medications safely and according to the E-MOTIVE intervention
Responsible for providing training for the E-MOTIVE intervention, supporting and facilitating on-site training to ensure all labor ward staff are well versed in E-MOTIVE
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of information procedures to work to the requirements of Good Clinical Practice and local regulatory requirements
Assist the recruitment team with troubleshooting issues related to recruitment/ screening survey
Ensure that the data from the screening survey is uploaded timeously and check that it is complete and available on the secure online platform
Assist the assessments team to ensure that baseline and follow-up household surveys are conducted within the timeframe set by the Project Manager
Document, report to the Data Specialist, and follow-up on any issues with the baseline and follow-up survey software/tablets
Send a daily report of the number of baseline and follow-up surveys completed to the team in Johannesburg making payments for the economic rewards
Assist in contact tracing participants who cannot be reached by their Peer Mentor
Send all participants enrolled in the trial specified amounts of data at specified intervals
Send all participants enrolled in the trial online surveys at specified intervals
Attend weekly Field Team meetings in Agincourt and assist with troubleshooting field-rel
