IT Engineer - Epping, Cape TownIntroduction & PurposeWe are looking for a dynamic, innovative operational person to join the IT department at Amaro Foods Central Services (Head Office Epping).PURPOSEResponsible for installing, configuring, updating and maintaining all computer hardware and software as well as providing hands on support for IT issues.Key Performance OutputsThe successful candidate will be reporting to the IT Manager and will be responsible for the following:Hardware and SoftwareSet up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devicesCheck hardware to ensure functionalityRepair or replace damaged hardware· In stall, test, configure and monitor servers, firewalls and software and functions according to company specifications'Perform tests and evaluations in new hardware and software Install and update network system improvements as needed Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systemsIdentify computer or network equipment shortages and place orders IT SupportDevelop and maintain local networks in ways that optimise performanceProvide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipmentBe the first point of contact for error reporting· Organise and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their workMonitor web performance, network availability and security, manage VOIP and Telecom systemsOversee troubleshooting for system errors· Provide helpdesk support for network issues/provide technical support either by phone, remote access or site visits, as neededEnsure electrical safety standards are met Conduct daily backup operations DocumentationMaintain records and logs of repairs· Maintain and update the Asset RegisterMaintain and update an accurate user list of all active users on the network Maintain and adhere to the maintenance scheduleKeep record of all purchases of IT related equipment Maintain all documentation required for due diligence Adhere to procedures and specifications Risk and ComplianceComply with the necessary Occupational Health and Safety requirementsEnsure compliance to all food safety regulations, allergen control, housekeeping and pest control Cultural fitComply with the necessary Occupational Health and Safety requirementsEnsure compliance to all food safety regulations, allergen control, housekeeping and pest controlTechnical Skills & ExperienceThe following skills and experience or the equivalent of such will be considered:Diploma or Degree in Computer Science or Engineering 4 years working in a similar roleA solid understanding of network practices with infrastructure knowledge Azure cloud servicesExperience with Microsoft based systems' Microsoft 365 ExperienceGraduate-level qualified in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline or equivalent experience is preferred Technical certifications in key infrastructure services and applications is preferredA solid IT infrastructure background Solid Busine
