Description
HR/PAYROLL ASSISTANT
DURBAN NORTH - KZN
Purpose of the Job
To maintain a harmonious working environment by ensuring that wage employees compensation and benefits are accurately calculated and timeously paid over, HR records and systems are updated, good relations between management and employees are maintained and enhanced, complying with the Company and legal requirements at all times.
AT LEAST 2/3 YEARS IN A PAYROLL ROLE ESSENTIAL
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll administration
Receive timesheets and separate between normal and overtime hours.
Experience with Buildsmart/Cyber Payroll an advantage
Correctly and accurately process all leave payments.
Once the payroll is approved, process the financial report for submission to the relevant departments.
General HR Administration & Industrial Relations
Complete and capture new employee information.
Conduct induction sessions for new employees.
Conduct investigations into allegations of misconduct against employees and make recommendations to senior and line management.
Arrange for disciplinary enquiries including sending out notifications to the relevant parties and DE chairpersons.
Arrange for interviews for recruitment ad exit interviews.
Qualifications & Knowledge Requirements
Post-matric HR qualification.
Computer literacy including payroll systems and processes.
At least 3-years experience in HR within the construction industry.
Good knowledge and applied understanding of the South African labour. legislation and the Bargaining Council for the Civil Engineering Industry (BCCEI).
Good communication skills both written and verbal.
