Financial Accountant

Build it – a division of The SPAR Group Ltd, is recruiting for a Financial Accountant at its Distribution Centre, located in Durban. *Purpose of the role:*To provide leadership and expertise of the financial controls and statutory compliance for the Build it DC. *Key Performance Areas* * Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations * Ensure compliance with SPAR group policies and procedures * Control and management of financial assets and liabilities * Ensure the integrity of the internal controls and implementing changes where weaknesses occur * Ensure accuracy and meeting all deadlines of reporting to SPAR Central Office * Ensure the integrity of the General Ledger * Monthly reporting on financial results * Prepare the annual budget and profit forecasts * Staff management * As a part of the DC management team, drive the profitability of the business * Complete adhoc special projects including the analysis of information * Prepare and submit all tax returns * Prepare and submit all VAT requirements * CA(SA) * Completed Articles, preferably with a “Big Four” audit firm * Experience in a managerial role * Good communication and interpersonal skills * Independent and able to work under pressure and meet deadlines * Possess a high level of accuracy and attention to detail * Proficient in MS Excel and computerised accounting packages * Proficient in SAP advantageous * Be able to provide leadership and manage all accounting aspects of the DC * Assertiveness * Self-starter who can persevere in all circumstances. *: * *Kindly note: All applications are to be submitted through the Careers Site and Pnet.
