Bookkeeper / Junior Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Group Accountant, you will be responsible for timeous and accurate processing of entries as well as assist with monthly management account preparation for entities within the Group. * Reconcile bank accounts on a monthly basis and prepare cashbook recons * Prepare and process accruals and all other journals on a monthly basis * Prepare monthly management accounts * Reconcile inter-company accounts * Prepare VAT calculations for payment * Do inter-company reconciliations and invoicing of both internal departments and external entities * Maintain fixed assets registers on a monthly basis * Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations * Various reporting on financials * Assist with ad-hoc functions as required * Matric * Desired Finance /Accounting qualification * Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Bookkeeper position, with proven experience in balance sheet and bank reconciliations as well as preparation of fixed assets registers and processing of accruals and provisions * Comprehensive knowledge, understanding and application of VAT regulations is a requisite * Computer Literate in MS Office with advanced knowledge of MS Excel * Desired experience in Accounting Software (Xero, Sage)  * The successful applicant must be able to work under pressure, meet tight reporting deadlines and at the same time show attention to detail R 180 000 - R 220 000 pa * Matric * Desired Finance /Accounting qualification * Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Bookkeeper position, with proven experience in balance sheet and bank reconciliations as well as preparation of fixed assets registers and processing of accruals and provisions * Comprehensive knowledge, understanding and application of VAT regulations is a requisite * Computer Literate in MS Office with advanced knowledge of MS Excel * Desired experience in Accounting Software (Xero, Sage)  * The successful applicant must be able to work under pressure, meet tight reporting deadlines and at the same time show attention to detail
