Retail Operations Manager

Our client a health food business with multiple restaurants and delis, as well as a food manufacturing arm for packaged retail goods is looking to hire a Retail Operations Manager. They are a young but growing team looking for someone to join and grow with them.

Overview:
The Retail Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the performance of our retail outlets to ensure strong sales execution, exceptional customer service, and consistent brand standards. This role supports store managers, drives effective stock control, manages e-commerce operations, and collaborates closely with the procurement team to maintain optimal stock levels.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, energetic individual who can take ownership of the company’s grocery store offering. A passion for healthy foods or a healthy lifestyle is highly beneficial.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support retail store teams to achieve sales targets and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction
• Ensure consistent product presentation, merchandising standards, and brand alignment across all retail locations
• Oversee and improve stock control processes and stock takes, ensuring accurate stock levels, timely replenishment, and minimal wastage
• Collaborate with procurement and suppliers to align stock movement, demand forecasting, and product availability
• Manage e-commerce operations, including order fulfilment, product listings, customer experience, and courier coordination
• Monitor store and online performance metrics, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing growth strategies
• Research and plan seasonal promotions and offerings as well as manage new product research and implementation.
• Train, coach, and develop store staff to maintain excellent service and strong product knowledge
• Address customer feedback and operational issues promptly and professionally
• Ensure compliance with company policies, operational procedures, and food safety standards

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in retail operations management and stock control, preferably within the food or beverage industry
• Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and organizational skills
• Experience with inventory management systems, stock control processes, and sales reporting
• Strong computer and Excel aptitude
• Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and online customer management
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel between retail locations
• Availability to work retail trading hours

Salary is negotiable based on experience with the range being R25 000 - R35 000
