I'm a hardworking agricultural biotechnologist, with experience in a tissue culture and molecular laboratory setup. I worked as an intern for a Seed producing company with roles as assistant pathologist and molecular biologist.
I performed general plant pathology laboratory duties such as media preparation, plant DNA extraction, validation protocols and meristem tissue culture.
As a molecular biologist i ensured quality control of maize, wheat, soyabean and other cereal seed samples using the latest of technologies, KASP- PCR, which uses SNP genotyping.
As a tissue culture laboratory intern i produced virus free potato and sweet potato vines through meristem tissue culture. I also performed various validation laboratory protocols and media preparation. I also managed to produce and do research on mushroom spawn production.
I have also combined knowledge of my studies to projects involving horticultural produce distribution, mushroom farming and aquaculture. I have conducted research and trainings in these areas.
