JUNIOR TOOLMAKER – MOLD MAINTENANCE
PLASTIC INJECTION & BLOW MOLD TOOLING
Well-established organization within the Plastic Injection Molding Industry has a vacancy for a JUNIOR TOOLMAKER (MOLD MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR), reporting to the Director of Operations.
This position is immediately available.
Maintenance of all Product Tooling
Support the Production Department on all product tooling
Understanding specific repair techniques for plastic tooling
Manage and monitor tooling maintenance
Manage and maintain Tooling Store and Tooling Register
Manage tooling breakdowns, tooling maintenance and minor tooling modifications.
Liaise with the tool room department to obtain the necessary tooling technical information and ensure its utilization in tooling repairs, maintenance and modifications.
Capture all tooling information from daily downtime/breakdown records and create a history data for the Preventative Maintenance and critical spares.
Review Daily Production schedule as to perform Scheduled Preventative Maintenance on all Plastic Injection & Blow Mold tooling
Carry out breakdown analysis from the data and implement measures to prevent failure.
Generate critical spares list for all tools.
Submit request for all tooling critical spares.
Submit request for all tooling consumables and other tooling requirements on a day to day basis.
Ensure tool making facilities are available for the optimum uptime of production tooling.
Ensure tooling maintenance programs and procedures are developed and implemented.
Ensure tooling maintenance is carried out as per procedures.
Be the first point of contact for tooling problems.
Offer technical assistance to Production Department on all tooling requirements.
Toolmaker – Qualified via Olifantsfontein Training (approx. 1 – 5 years’ experience on the bench)
Tool Room experience in the manufacture of Plastic Injection Molds
N3 National Certificate
Injection Molding Tooling repairs experience essential
Computer Skills – good working knowledge
Good written & verbal communication skills
CNC programming & machining
Ability to work independently
Handle pressure and deadline driven
Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, call-outs and overtime when required
Good interpersonal relationship skills
Able to communicate clearly and concisely written and verbal
Must be self-motivated and dedicated
Focused and Driven to achieve targets and results
A natural ability to deal at all levels within the Organization
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical instructions and drawings relating to plastic tooling.
