SHEQ Officer (Power Plant) Nelspruit / Ngodwana Ma

Our client has this 5 year contract for a candidate who meets the requirements Ensure/enforce contractor compliance and ensure their safety files are up to date before they can be allowed on site Provide all staff and contractors with Health, Safety, Environment and Security training Ensure the implementation of Permit To Work system for all Plant activities Manage the SHERQ committee Manage SHERQ management system implementation and updates to accommodate legislative changes and industry standards Develop and manage the SHERQ training program and keep records up to date Develop, implement and manage the emergency preparedness procedure Ensure emergency system drills are conducted in line with the company policy Promote SHERQ awareness Perform internal audits and negotiate corrective actions with responsible managers Facilitate the auditing of maintenance contractors, identify possible corrective actions and follow up on corrective actions Coordinate and facilitate multi-functional disciplinary work groups to conduct HIRA and Mitigation plans Set and monitor compliance to management SHERQ objectives Develop and empower employees to take ownership for SHERQ Assist in preparation for divisional budget Coordinate the ergonomics and hygiene survey studies Implement and manage compliance to the hygiene and ergonomics standards and recommendations for the business ensuring best practices at all times Incidents and accidents investigation, enforce timely closure of corrective action and ensure preventative measures Managing the process of Lessons-learned and ensuring that Lessons-learned are fed back into the organization Candidates are required to have a valid driver’s licence Diploma in Safety Management ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018 & ISO 9001:2015 SAMTRAC, NEBOSH or equivalent Legislation (OHS Act, PER, NEMA, COID, By-laws) certificate EXPERIENCE Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in monitoring, implementing and auditing SHE in a power plant and construction environment in the power and energy sector. Environmental & Waste Management will be advantageous Proficient in MS Office Diploma in Safety Management ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018 & ISO 9001:2015 SAMTRAC, NEBOSH or equivalent Legislation (OHS Act, PER, NEMA, COID, By-laws) certificate EXPERIENCE Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in monitoring, implementing and auditing SHE in a power plant and construction environment in the power and energy sector.
