Our products are used in the top-end of the market, in the aluminium, steel, non-ferrous alloys, rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, chemicals and welding consumable industries. *VACANCY: ENGINEERING ASSISTANT MECHANICAL X 2* *MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB* The job incumbent will be responsible for the safely carrying out preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment and installation work when required in line with documented work instructions. *BACKGROUND INFORMATION REGARDING THE JOB* In this position, the job incumbent will be part of the solution preparation wet engineering team. At MMC, the solution preparation wet engineering team performs the value-add activities of the process to ensure the solution is prepared and ready for electroplating in the cell house. The incumbent’s role is a key function to this team, as the person will be responsible for the smooth operation of the solution preparation wet section with specific attention required on thickeners, gearboxes, conveyor belting, filters, storage vessels, air, water and solution reticulation, centrifugal and mono pumps. The equipment operates on a 24hr/365day basis. Success in this role happens through effective utilisation of staff and equipment in the working environment. Fitting and safety related tasks will form part of your daily work. Work planning will be part of duty and consist of regular shuts on equipment.
