 Role Overview

This internship offers hands-on exposure to engineering consulting, technical analysis, and real client projects.
You will work directly under a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) in risk assessment, HAZOP, safety studies and engineering calculations.

 Key Responsibilities

• Assist with HAZOP preparations, node breakdowns, guideword analysis and report development
• Support QRA studies, including data collection, frequency analysis, event trees and consequence modelling
• Draft technical reports, checklists, registers and safety documentation
• Assist in preparing source term tables, hazard identification worksheets, emergency response plans, and safety procedures
• Conduct research on SANS standards, international codes (API, CCPS, ISO, PD 8010, UK HSE)
• Support site assessments, inspections and data capture for risk studies
• Assist with administrative engineering tasks, document control, file structuring and QA checks
• Develop and maintain Excel models, charts, dashboards, and calculations
• Attend client meetings, training workshops, and internal engineering reviews
• Contribute to internal systems improvement (templates, SOPs, checklists)

 Minimum Requirements

• Studying toward or recently completed a BSc/BEng/BTech in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured methodology
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Good communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to analyse technical information logically
• Independent, driven, and willing to learn new concepts quickly
