Structural Draughtsman

As a Structural Draughtsman, you will be responsible for producing accurate, coordinated structural drawings using Autodesk Revit and other BIM tools. Youll work closely with structural engineers, architects, and junior draughtsman to translate design concepts into technical documentation ready for construction. This is a full-time, in-office position based in Cape town.


Key Responsibilities:

• Create and revise 2D and 3D structural drawings and documentation across all project phasesfrom concept to construction.
• Model structural components including foundations, columns, beams, slabs, walls, reinforcement detailing, and steel connections in Autodesk Revit.
• Ensure drawings are accurate, coordinated, and compliant with relevant codes and internal standards.
• Assist in mentoring junior draughtsmen and checking their work for quality and consistency.
• Collaborate closely with structural engineers and other team members to ensure effective design integration.
• Learn and apply the proprietary systems and design methods.

Skills & Qualifications:

• National Diploma or relevant qualification in Draughting (Structural focus preferred).
• Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit and basic CAD principles.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit (essential); knowledge of BIM coordination workflows is a plus.
• Solid understanding of structural systems (RC, steel, masonry, and hybrid systems).
• Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural plans.
• Excellent attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and time management.
• Previous exposure to professional quality management systems
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
