Minimum requirements:
- Matric
- Basic draughting skills with CAD software ability
- Good mathematical skills and understanding of technical measurements
- Previous irrigation experience is an advantage, but not essential
- Willingness to learn, develop new skills and work within a professional team

- Receive training and develop skills in Irrigation Design
- Provide customers with professional and accurate irrigation system layouts

Key Responsibilities:Lead the end-to-end mechanical design of composite components, from concept to production release.Develop detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, and engineering drawings to industry standards.Select appropriate composite materials, lay-up strategies, and manufacturing processes (e.g., prepreg, RTM, filament winding, and vacuum infusion).Perform structural analysis and optimization of composite designs using FEA tools.Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and materials engineering teams to ensure design feasibility and production efficiency.Support prototype builds, testing campaigns, and performance validation activities.Provide technical leadership and mentorship to Junior Engineers.Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, design best practices, and material innovation.Qualifications & Skills:Bachelors or Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.Experience in mechanical design within the composites industry (aerospace, automotive, marine, sporting goods, industrial, etc.).Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, Siemens NX, SolidWorks, and Creo).Solid understanding of composite material behaviour, laminate theory, and manufacturing processes.Experience with FEA tools (ANSYS, Abaqus, HyperWorks or similar) for composite structures.Excellent knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and industry standards.Strong project leadership skills and the ability to manage complex design tasks.Excellent communication and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills.
