Description

Our well established client based in Denver, Johannesburg CBD has a vacancy for a

Technician Reefer. Only candidates that meet the below requirements will be

contacted.

Responsibilities:

To repair and quote Refrigerated Containers as per customer requirements and

perform PTI (Pre Trip Inspection) and attend to after hour break downs and inform Supervisor / Ops Manager once completed.

Minimum Requirements:

Matric.

N2/N3 preferably Electrical/Refrigeration.

1-2 years field experience after completion of trainee programme.

Minimum 3 years field experience in Refrigeration.

Good knowledge of the makeup of reefers, depot operations, as well as customer

requirements.

Good communication skills

Stress Tolerance

Driver's License.

Valid Trade Test,preferably Electrical/Refrigeration.

Key Performance Areas:

Operations-Refrigerated Container Repairs:

Receive job cards from Reefer Supervisor/Controller.

Determine materials/consumables that are required to complete the repairs.

Carry out authorized repairs, Major Mechanicals / Minor Mechanical Damages.

Ensure Reefer Technician trainee is allocated job cards adequate to his/her

qualifications.

Ensure Reefer tech trainees workmanship is supervised at all times.

Operations-Mechanical Callout:

Identify problems and liaise with the client and assessment is given via email/sms

Quote all Major Mechanical damages as per client's requirements

Health, Safety and Environment:

Ensuring that all repair activities are done in compliance with the OHS Act.

Ensuring that completed Jobs are QC passed prior to sign-off.

Reporting all unsafe tools and equipment immediately to the safety officer.

Ensuring that such unsafe equipment is not used by any staff member unless that

fault has been rectified or equipment.

Information Systems:

Provides immediate notification of all malfunctions with the Depot Management

system to the Operations Manager and logs events on his /her instructions.

Follows up with the Operations Manager until resolution to the problem is achieved.

Customer Care:

To understand that the job function is to serve the customers with respect,

understanding and commitment to achieve service excellence.

Respond courteously and immediately to customer queries and requests.

To ensure that the quality of service that is rendered is of the highest standard at all

times.

Appreciate that the customer's support ensures the continued existence of GIM which impacts directly on the continued employment of staff.

To ensure that every effort is made to understand in all aspects of the business and

that of customers.

Demonstrate honesty and integrity in all dealings with customers.

Deliver on all commitments and promises.
