SALARY AND PACKAGE:


  • R 10 000 – R 15 000 depending on experience
  • Contract position
  • Position immediately available

EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:


  • 3 years HSE experience, (experience in telecommunications advantage)
  • Must be familiar with Vodacom Gate 2
  • SAMTRAC or any similar HSE certificate NQF level 5 minimum
  • Fall Protection Planning advantage
  • Computer literate with strong skills in Microsoft Office packages
  • Driver’s license
  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Own vehicle
  • Working on heights certificate/basic fall arrest or fall arrest and recue advantage
  • Must have clear communication and writing skills in English
  • Ability to do presentations & provide training in front of groups
  • Ability to travel to participate in EHS Events and Assignments
  • Strong team-building skills
  • Training/presentation and report writing skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of cross-functional EHS disciplines
  • Ability to serve as a subject matter expert in one of the EHS functional disciplines (Occupational Health, Environmental Engineering/Management, Safety, or EHS Systems)


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  1. Perform regular EHS site inspections to ensure that all Policies and Procedures are being adhered to
  2. Patriciate in client EHS meetings
  3. Manage and ensure that asset registers are up to date
  4. Perform warehouse audits on a regular basis
  5. Assist with the health and safety plan
  6. Assist with the fall protection plan
  7. Investigate all incidents, accidents and near misses
  8. Ensure that all incidents, accidents and near misses are recorded
  9. Assist with the baseline risk assessment and ensure that new hazards, risks are identified, and control measures are implemented
  10. Providing health and safety inductions to employees
  11. To be up to date with new legislation relevant to scope of work
  12. Provide adequate assistance and guidance to employees
  13. Ensure training requirements are met for scope of work
  14. Ensure weekly, monthly and daily reports are submitted to line managers and reporting parties
  15. Issuing non-conformances to relevant party when in breach of HSE laid down by employer or client requirements
  16. Ensure that all non – conformances are recorded
  17. Ensure that employees obey HSE requirements laid down by client and employer
  18. Ensure that all Policies and Procedures are properly recorded, and effective document control is in place
  19. Candidates should be hands-on and be able to work well under pressure, as this is a fast-paced industry
  20. Perform vehicle inspections
  21. Print and maintain EHS files
  22. Candidates may be required to perform other duties over and above the ones listed
