Summary

Cathy's Grill & Chill is a newly established business that will focus on selling grilled meat and starch. The business will be operated in a Mobile Kitchen that is based in Pretoria, Sunnyside. As part of the start up process, a Grill Cook is needed that will fulfill certain requirements and committed to work from 09:00 until 19:00 Monday to Saturday (Saturday will be compensated with additional money based on the business' performance).

Key responsibilities

Cooking pap and arranging it in Chafing Dishes

Pre-grilling meat and safely store for further grilling upon receiving customer order

Salad preparation as per the business requirements

Preventing cross contamination

House Keeping of the Mobile Kitchen

Washing of the pots and other utensils after use

Completion of the cleaning schedule hourly and keeping record of such process

Stock taking

Requirements

Strictly South African required

Must have basic experience in cooking African Cuisine food (Can be professional or non professional)

Be highly competent in cooking delicious pap

Be creative in the creation of salads and food presentation

Should have customer experience or ability to address customers in a respectful and friendly manner

Ability to work shifts, weekends or on holidays

Commitment to a 6 months contract, which will be reviewed before the expiry date. The cook will be required to give a two weeks notice should they wish to resign. This will allow the business owner enough time to obtain a replacement.

The cook will be required to attend a workshop with the Department of Economic Development and food handling with the Department of Health. This will be paid by the business owner and only requires the cook to avail himself/herself.

Remuneration

The business is a start up and cannot guarantee a specific salary. The business owner commits to a starting salary of R 3000, which may be reviewed as the business continue to grow at any given time by the business owner and upon the end of the contract.
