Christine is a old single mom of a six year old boy, who has been retrenched about year ago and only started working recently. During that time, she had to reduce her medical aid because the income she received as a freelancer was not sufficient to cover for a proper medical aid. In February this year a 7mm kidney stone (caused by hypoparathyroidism) got stuck in the urinary tract and blocked it causing a build-up of toxins in her body resulting in septicaemia. She was in a medical induced coma and nearly died. As a result, this depleted her medical aid. She now has medical debt from the procedure in February and still needs to undergo the surgery to prevent permanent kidney damage. She has to undergo the surgery within the following month, because of her autoimmune disease (hypoparathyroidism) which can cause the calcification of the kidney stents which will cause further kidney damage. She did have an option to go to the Windhoek Central Hospital, which is state owned, but the machine required for the surgery is broken and there is no definite date when it will be repaired.
We ask each and everyone one of you to please find it in your hearts to donate. We urgently need to raise money for Christine to undergo the surgery in order to recover and continue her life and take care of her child.
