Cashbook Clerk

Responsibilities:

• Accurately record all cash receipts and payments in the cashbook
• Prepare and reconcile bank statements
• Process and allocate funds for various expenses and invoices
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements
• Monitor and reconcile discrepancies in cash transactions
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
• Follow company procedures and maintain confidentiality of financial information
• Adhere to relevant laws, regulations and best practices

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Cashbook Clerk or similar role
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and procedures
• Proficient in using accounting software and Excel
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Accounting or related field diploma or degree
• Previously worked in retail environment
