BMW iX Drive 50

If you like technology and like to buy a car that ages well. This is the car. I have owned the car now for 2 years. It is amazing. The question you get asked the most is what the range is. The answer is easy how big is your bladder. If you go long distance, you most probable going to stop every 2 hours. I nice thing about charging it is the first thing you do and if you go to the bathroom the last thing is you unplug. With the fast charges on the way that 17 minutes is sufficient. You do not have to wait till it is fully charged. We for instance drove to Plett. Start at 100% and stop in Heidelberg to used the bathroom. Charged 17 minutes. Stopped in George to have dinner and charged. We arrived in Plett with 92 % charge. You have to just think.

Opening the car with your phone having the seats mirror, temperature adjusted for the specific driver is just next level. The car reverses itself out of the garages etc. We have solar at our house and have only bought Electricity to the value of R2500.00 from other vendors since we have had it. Every morning the car is fully charged and most of the time we only did about 35 km so you use so little of the range. This is Drive50 with the 125 kWh battery and fully charged the range is 600 km. The seats in the car is extremely comfortable. The car has regenerative braking, and we have never used the brakes. At the last service there was less than 1% wear on the brake pads. The car has full service and maintenance plan till Dec 2026 and another 5 years on the battery.

This car is extremely fast doing 30-100km in 1.3 seconds, it is equivalent of 420 kw and 800 Nm torque. We have toed caravan etc. We are just downgrading to a smaller electric car. Once you have owned an electric, I think you will never drive anything else. Please, no joy rides. This car is just too fast. This car is permanent 4-wheel drive with rear steer. Extremely easy to park in a parking
