Description
ULTRA TUNE - Intelli Power Probe.

MULTI FUNCTION TESTER INSTRUCTIONS.
The Multi Function Tester can be used on 6V, 12V or 24V DC electrical systems for a variety of test purposes.

Two leads exit the rear of the tester, one is used as an auxiliary battery negative while the other provides two terminal clips for connection to the battery. The red battery clip connects to battery positive, the black battery clip connects the negative. (the black battery clip is referred to as ground)

Measuring polarity:
Ensure that the battery clips are connected to the system battery. Place the switch in the measure position (measure position is marked O on switch) Connect the test tip to the measurement point of interest. Observe the polarity that lights up on the Polarity Indicator
Red LED – Probe tip is positive with respect to ground

Green LED – Probe tip in negative with respect to ground

Injecting positive into the power tip:
Ensure that the battery clips are connected to the system battery. Place
the switch in the inject positive position (Inject positive position
is marked I on switch) The polarity indicator will light up red
indicating that the multi function tester tip is currently positive.
Use the probe test tip to inject positive directly from the battery
positive terminal into the system.

Injecting negative into the power tip: Ensure
that the battery clips are connected to the system battery. Place
the switch in the inject negative position (Inject negative position
is marked II on switch) The polarity indictor will light up green
indication that the multi function tester tip is currently negative.
Use the probe test tip to inject negative directly from the battery
negative terminal into the system.

Auxillary ground:
The tail with the small crocodile clip is permanently connected to
negative via the battery negative (Black) crocodile clip. This
facilitates a ground conveniently close to the test tip working
area.

Overload & Overvoltage protection:
The multi function tester is protected against overloading due to short
circuits or reverse current by means of internal current limiting
circuitry. When the multi function tester trips, the overload
indicator illuminates yellow. It will recover from a trip
automatically once the fault condition is removed for a small period
of time. If the fault condition persists, the unit shall remain
tripped indefinitely without sustaining damage.

It is also protected against over-voltage conditions for short
duration's. A 39Volt, 600 Watt instantaneous voltage clamping
circuit is used to protect the tester against accidental over-
voltage conditions, such as spikes for a short duration.
Continued exposure to high voltage will cause the protection system to fail.
