When last was your swimming pool filter sand replaced?
Your filter sand should be replaced every two years in order to maintain optimal functioning of the system.
Old and dirty sand tends to increase the pressure in the filter which can cause the filter to crack. Cracked filters cannot be repaired and must be replaced. Old sand or a blocked bleeder pipe can also cause back pressure which can cause damage to the pump.
