Description
Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs chemical, microbiological, and in-process production analyses accurately and on time.
- Prepares standard solutions and verifies quality through standardisation checks.
- Maintains and calibrates laboratory equipment, ensuring compliance with SANS 17025 and GLP standards.
- Troubleshoots discrepancies, analyses data for quality risks, and completes accurate quality records.
- Supports problem-solving, corrective actions, and continuous process improvement.
- Participates in QMS procedures, audits, and SANAS compliance activities.
- Manages stock of chemicals, media, and consumables, ensuring availability for testing.
- Maintains lab hygiene, safety compliance, and high housekeeping standards.
- Higher Diploma or B.Sc. in Microbiology, Food Technology, Biotechnology, or related field.
- At least two years experience in a similar laboratory environment.
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; strong record-keeping and report-writing skills.
- Own transport and flexible to work varied hours.
