Tractor Driver Philippi, Cape Town

We are looking for Tractor Driver to join our dynamic and dedicated racing team based at our Philippi Stables. As a Tractor Driver, you will drive tractors with various attachments to mow, spray, aerate, fertalise, level and scarify the on and off the course.

The Tractor Driver will also move the starting stalls as and when required. The successful incumbent will report to the Track Estate Manager.

What You'll Do

Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient way in accordance with health and safety regulations.

Cut grass with wide area mower.

Spray chemicals and foliar fertiliser using tractor mounted spray equipment.

Operate tractor with various turf attachments.

Level dirt roadways with tractor mounted equipment.

Moving the starting stalls on race days.

Ensure that a pre-operating inspection is conducted before operating any machinery.

Ensure that equipment is maintained and serviced (in good working condition).

Assist the track machine minder with minor equipment repairs.

Operates tractor as per manufacturers specifications.

Preparation of training tracks as per maintenance schedule.

Use the scrubber to level out the road.

Spray grass with spray tank attachment.

Use the aerating attachments to make holes.

Fertilise the grass using the fertiliser attachment.

Use Taurb and Amazon attachments for scarifying annually.

Any other such duties that might be required.

What You’ll Need

Standard 8/ Grade 10/ Equivalent (advantageous).

Must be able and physically fit (required).

Proven ability to operate tractors.

A valid Code 08/ Code B drivers license (advantageous).

A tractors license (advantageous).
