Description
Minimum requirements:
Consultant: Rene Otte - Dante Personnel Greenstone
- Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification
- Bachelors degree or Diploma in Agriculture, Horticulture, Production Management, or a related field (preferred)
- 10+ years of proven experience in citrus packhouse management, including large-scale operations
- In-depth knowledge of citrus grading, sorting and packing processes
- Strong understanding of export standards and certifications, including GlobalG.A.P., BRC, HACCP, and food safety compliance
- Experience in staff management, including training, labour planning, and performance management of large seasonal teams
- Sound knowledge of packhouse machinery, equipment maintenance, and production flow
- Strong financial and operational management skills, including budgeting, cost control and reporting
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant packhouse or production management systems
- Thorough understanding of health, safety and labour legislation applicable to agricultural operations in South Africa
- Ability to work under pressure, meet export deadlines and maintain high product quality standards
