Description

MIET AFRICA, a regional NGO working in education development, requires a Switchboard/ Administrator. This is a 12-month contract position and the successful applicant will be based at MIET AFRICA’s head office in Morningside Durban.

Key tasks:

- Full receptionist functions

- Full switchboard functions

- Coordinate bookings for the organization’s boardroom

- IT co-ordination of queuing system

- Control vehicle log book and maintenance of vehicle

- Ad hoc: operational administrative and clerical support, including data management and filing

Requirements:

- Matriculation, and have at least commenced study towards relevant qualification in administration

- Minimum 2 years reception/ switchboard & administrative working experience would be an advantage

- Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

- Excellent public relations

- Professional personal presentation

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

- Well organised and attention to detail

- Provide administrative and clerical support services to the finance department in order to ensure efficiency and effectiveness within the organization

- Adherence to operational systems, procedures and controls

- A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards in a diverse workplace

- Collaborative work style and commitment to meet set deadlines

- Adherence to MIET Africa’s confidentiality policy

- Code 8 driver’s licence

- Experience in the NGO environment would be an advantage
